Monkeyroo Baby Rattle

Best Blog Tips

This is a fun rattle for your baby or for a child you love, whether it is your niece, nephew, your grandchild or the baby of your best friend. It is easy and quick to make and you will delight any child you give it to.

Materials:
Worsted weight yarn (I used Red Heart Cafe, Red Heart Buff, scraps red Heart Black, Red Heart Carrot)
Crochet size F and size H hooks
1 little bell (I used a cat's little ball with a bell inside)
stuffing tool
measuring tape
scissors
pins
fiberfill
blunt needle

Note: If you prefer, you can use cotton yarn, but personally, I prefer acrylic yarn because it can be thrown into the washer and into the dryer without shrinkage and the toy could be kept clean for the child.

Body- Make 2. With H hook and Cafe, ch 17.
Row 1- 1 sc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. (Ch 1 stands for 1 sc throughout). Row 2- 1 sc in next sc and in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. (16 sts.)
Rows 3 to 15- Rep row 2. Fastenoff, leaving long tail to sew with. Place both squares right sides facing one another and whip stitch together the sides and the top using the long tails you left when you fastened off. Leave the bottom open.
Turn inside out and proceed to make the "face".

  2. Thank you Phyllis, you just made my day! I make ALL my funmigurumi for orphans in a Christian charity program I'm involved in. That is one of the reasons why I give the patterns away, because I jsut want to make children happy (there's so much pain in the world!)When I sell a pattern, I use most of the money for the same thing (what is not materials and such)I just love doing it and it gives me joy. Thank YOU for using Craftybegonia patterns for your charity work, it is an honor!

    Take care and God bless.
