We begin a new series today. The Holidays are coming and crochet Amigurumi lovers are looking for patterns to make. Stripers are super easy to make a very cute. Their name was inspired by the stripes they are wearing. They are great to make in quantities for charity or for gift-giving. We begin the series with a lovable French bear named Chay Chay, who loves to wear a beret. Enjoy!

Size- 16" L X 7 1/2" W
Skill- Advanced beginner onward

Materials-
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Paddy Green (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Turqua (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Daffodil or Bright Yellow (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Spring Green (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Pumpkin (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Pale Blue (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Aran (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Coffee (2 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight White (1/2 yard)
Crochet hook sizes F, G, and H
Scissors
Pins
Blunt needle
Fiberfill

Body (Make 2)-
With Paddy Green and H hook, ch 31.
Row 1- 1 sc in third ch from hook and in each ch till end of row. (30 sc, counting ch bump of first st.) Ch 1, turn.
Row 2- 1 sc in each sc across and in top of ch bump of first st. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 3 to 4- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 5- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 6- Join Turqua, work 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 7- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 8 to 9- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 10- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 11- Join Daffodil or Bright Yellow. Make 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 12 to 14- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 15- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 16- Join Spring Green, work 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 17 to 19- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 20- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 21- Join Pumpkin. Make 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 22 to 24- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 25- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 26- Join Pale Blue. Work 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 27 to 29- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 30- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Using the tails you left, sew Sides and Bottom of both Front and Back of Body together, matching the color stripes. Fasten off and weave in tails inside of Body. Leave Top open.



Head-
Front or "Face"-
With Aran and H hook, join to 6th sc of Front (skipping the first 5 sc for "Shoulder".)
Row 1- 1 sc in same sc as sc where you joined and in each of next 19 sc, skip last 5 sc for second "Shoulder." (20 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 2- 1 sc in each sc across. (20 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 3 to 14- 1 sc in each sc across. (20 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 15- 1 sc in each sc across. (20 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

Back of Head-
Repeat as for Front.

Muzzle-
With Aran and F hook ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (24 sc)
Rnd 4- 1 sc in each sc in each of first 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around (30 sc)
Rnd 5- 1 sc in each sc around. (30 sc)
Rnd 6- 1 sc in each sc around. (30 sc)
Rnd 7- 1 sc in each sc around. (30 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.


Nose-
With Coffee and F hook, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around, (12 sc) Sl st to join rnd. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew and embroider Mouth with.

Pin Nose to center of Muzzle and sew in place, with leftover yarn embroider Mouth as seen in photos. Fasten off, weave in tail inside of Muzzle.
Stuff Muzzle and center On Face. Pin it and sew in place. Fasten off, weave in tail.

Eyes Make 2-
With Coffee and F hook ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 8 sc in second ch from hook. Sl st to join rnd. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew and to stitch Eyebrows with.

"Light" of Eyes-
Thread blunt needle with White yarn and following the photos, stitch small straight stitches on both Eyes. Fasten off and weave in yarn inside of Head.

Pin Eyes to Face above the Muzzle and sew in place, stitching long straight Eyebrows before you finish. Fasten off and weave in tails inside of Head.

Stuff Head well. Sew top and weave in tail.

Ears (Make 2)-
With buff and G hook, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnds 4 to 5- 1 sc in each sc around. (18 sc) Don't worry that it will curl inward, that is exactly what you want so that your Ear will have a rim. Weave in beginning tail. Fasten off, leaving a long tail to sew with.

Sew Ears to sides of Head. Fasten off, weave in tails.



Beret-
With Paddy Green and H hook, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnd 4- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (24 sc)
Rnd 5- 1 sc in each of first 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (30 sc)
Rnd 6- 1 sc in each of first 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (36 sc)
Rnds 7 to 9- 1 sc in each sc around. (36 sc)
Rnd  10- 1 sc in each of first 4 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, rep around. (30 sc)
Rnd 11- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, rep around. (24 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

Position Beret as you like it best or as you see it in photos. Pin Beret in place and sew onto Head with the smallest stitches possible, so that the Beret won't come off. Fasten off, weave in tail.

Arms (Make 2)-
With Bright Yellow and H hook, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in second ch from hook, rep around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnd 4- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (24 sc)
Rnds 5 to 7- 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)
Rnd 8- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, sc2tog over the next 2 sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnd 9- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, rep around. (14 sc)
Stuff as you go!
Rnd 10- 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc)
Rnds 11 to 22- 1 sc in each sc around. (14 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

Finish stuffing and using blunt needle and tails, sew to sides of Body as seen in photos. Fasten off and weave ends inside of Body.

Feet and Legs (Make 2)-
With Paddy Green and H hook, ch 2.
Repeat all rnds as for Arms. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

Sew Legs on. Fasten off, weave in tails.
