Well, we are going to go at it again. There is nothing cuter than a bear, especially a lovable and huggable one. Here we have another one of our Stripers, this time it's a sweet little bear girl a truly girly girl bear. If you ever wanted to crochet a teddy bear but did not do it because you thought they were too elaborate and long, try this one, it's a snap. Enjoy!

Skill- Moderately easy
Size-  17" T x 8" W (Not measuring rose)

Materials-
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Tea Leaf  (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Spring Green (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Perfect Pink (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Baby Pink (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Pumpkin (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Bright Yellow (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Soft Brown (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Aran (4 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Black (3 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn White (3 oz)
Fiberfill
Crochet hook size H
Blunt needle
Scissors



Body (Make 2)-
With crochet hook size H and Tea Leaf, ch 31.
Row 1- 1 sc in third ch from hook and in each ch till end of row. (30 sc, counting ch bump of first st.) Ch 1, turn.
Row 2- 1 sc in each sc across and in top of ch bump of first st. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 3 to 5- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 6- Join Spring Green, work 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 7 to 9- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 10- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 11- Join Perfect Pink and work 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 12 to 14- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 15- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 16- Join Pumpkin. Work 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 17 to 19- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 20- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Row 21- Join Bright Yellow. Make 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 22 to 29- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 30- 1 sc in each sc across. (30 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

Thread blunt needle and sew Bottom and Sides of Body closed, using corresponding yarn colors, and leaving the Top open for now.



Head (Make 2, Front and Back)-
Row 1- Skip first 5 sc from Top of Body, join Soft Brown and and with H hook, work 20 sc, ch 1, turn, leaving the last 5 sc of Top of Body unworked. (20 sc)
Row 2- 1 sc in each sc across. (20 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 3 to 29- 1 sc in each sc across. (20 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 30- 1 sc in each sc across. (20 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Sew sides of Head, leaving Top open for now. Fasten off, weave in ends.

Muzzle-
With Aran and H hook, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep arund. (18 sc)
Rnd 4- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (24 sc)
Rnds 4 to 6- 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

Nose-
With Black, ch 5.
Row 1- Make 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each ch from hook.Ch 1, turn. (4 sc)
Rows 2 to 3- 1 sc in each sc across. (4 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Center muzzle pieces in front side of body as seen in photos, Fasten off. Sew in place. Sew nose on top and center, embroider mouth as a straight line down and then a short line across 4 sc. Fasten off. Weave in tail inside of head.

Eyes
White of Eyes (Make 2)-
With White and H hook ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

Puplils (Make 2)-
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

Sew Pupils to White of Eyes. Fasten off, weave in ends at Back of piece.  Pin Eyes to Head at sides of Muzzle as seen in photos. Use tail of White of Eyes to sew Eyes to Head. Fasten off and weave in tails inside of Head.



Legs (Make 2)-
With Teal Leaf and H hook, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnd 4- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (24 sc)
Rnd 5- 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)
Rnds 5 to 6- 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc) Fasten off Tea Leaf and weave in tail.
Rnd 7- Join Spring Green. Work 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)
Rnd 8- Work 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, sc2tog over the next 2 sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnd 9- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, rep around. (14 sc) Fasten off, weave in tails.
Stuff as you go!
Rnd 10- Join Perfect Pink, work 1 sc in each sc around. (18 sc)
Rnds 11 to 13- 1 sc in each sc around. (18 sc)
Rnd 14- 1 sc in each sc around. (18 sc) Fasten off, weave in tail.
Rnd 15- Join Baby Pink, make 1 sc in each sc around. (18 sc)
Rnds 16 to 19- 1 sc in each sc around. (18 sc) Fasten off, weave in tail.
Rnd 20- Join Pumpkin and work 1 sc in each sc around. (18 sc)
Rnds 21 to 22- 1 sc in each sc around. (18 sc) Fasten off, weave in tail.
Rnd 23- Join Bright Yellow and make 1 sc in each sc around (18 sc)
Rnds 24 to 25- 1 sc in each sc around. (18 sc) Fasten off, weave in tail.
Rnd 26- Join Tea Leaf, work 1 sc in each sc around. (18 sc)
Rnds 27 to 28- 1 sc in each sc around. (18 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

Finish stuffing, sew Legs to Bottom of Body. Don't worry that it is not stuffed yet.

Arms (Make 2)-
With Soft Brown and H hok, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnd 4- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (24 sc)
Rnd 5- 1 sc in each sc around. (24 sc)
Rnds 6 to 7- 1 Sc in each sc around. (24 sc)
Rnd 8- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, sc2tog over the next 2 sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnd 8- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, sc2tog over the next 2 sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnd 9- 1 sc in each of first 2 sc, sc2tog over next 2 sc, rep around. (14 sc) Fasten off, weave in tails.
Stuff as you go!
Rnd 10- Join Perfect Pink, work 1 sc in each sc around. (18 sc)
Rnds 11 to 15-  1 sc in each sc around. (18 sc) Fasten off, weave in tail.
Rnd 16- Join Baby Pink, make 1 sc in each st around. (18 sc)
Rnds 17 to 21- 1 sc in each sc around. (18 sc) Fasten off, weave in tails.
Rnd 22- Join Pumpkin. Work 1 sc in each sc around. (18 sc)
Rnds 23 to 26- 1 sc in each sc around. (18 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.
Finish stuffing and sew Arms in place as you see them in photos.

Stuff Body and using tails, sew the Shoulders closed. Fasten off, weave in tails.

Close the sides of the Head using the tails you left.

Stuff Head and sew closed. Fasten off, weave in tails.

Ears (Make 2)-
With Soft Brown and H hook, ch 2.
Rnd 1- Work 6 sc in second ch from hook, sl st to join rnd. (6 sc)
Rnd 2- 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3- 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, rep around. (18 sc)
Rnds 4 to 6- 1 sc in each sc around. (18 sc) Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

Rose-
With Perfect Pink and H hook, ch 53.
Row 1- Work 1 sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (52 sc) Ch 3, turn.
Row 2- Make 5 dc in first sc (ch 3 counts as first dc), skip 3 sc, slip st in next sc, [skip next 2 sc, work 6 dc in next sc, skip 2 sc, 1 sl st in next sc] rep across, Finish row as follows: When there are only 6 sc left plus the bump of the first sc, work as follows: Skip 2 sc, make 6 dc in next sc, skip only 1 sc, sl st in next sc, skip 1 sc, 6 dc in top of bump of first sc. Fasten off, leaving tail long enough to sew with.
To Form Rose:
Carefully roll up the strip you just finished into a rose shape. Use a blunt needle to stitch the rose together on the back side.
Sew Rose to the center of Huggums Head. Fasten off, weave in tail.
